Brandywine Cigar Club Tasting

Blue Parrot Bar & Grill – Union Street, Wilmington

Please join us out for one of the two above dates at the new Blue Parrot Bar & Grill.  Mark Diamond, owner, has offered us a section of his porch for his fellow cigar enthusiasts.  With tastes inspired by Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, we are guaranteed to have a great food line up to go with our cigar selections.  We will be tasting 3 cigars to compliment the weather and food.  The cost for the cigars will be $15 per person, payable at the event.  As always, please confirm which date you will be attending so that we have enough food and cigars on hand.  Please confirm to info@brandywinecigarclub.com

Cigar Selections / Previous Tastings

Cigars from October 7th, 2003 Event – Gallucio’s Restaurant

Cigars Selected by Black Cat Cigar Company (see link below)

o         Cigar #1: Rodrigo de Jerez - Robusto  (Honduras) - Medium-bodied with a rich, earthy flavor, this cigar is manufactured by the makers of Camacho.

o         Cigar #4: Santa Rosa - Toro Maduro (Honduras) - The rich, full-flavored blend is wrapped in a smooth, black Maduro wrapper. Clean and even burning, Santa Rosa offers a hearty full-bodied taste with a mild finish.

Cigars from October 29th, 2003 Event – Del Rose Café

Cigars Selected by Three Sons Smoke Shop

o         Cigar #1: Cuesta Ray – Dominican #3: Very mild, nutty flavored cigar that is excellent for beginners.

o         Cigar #2: Punch Rare Corojo – Pita: The filler is a mixture of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Dominican Republic.  This is a very unique and unusual blend.  There are very few cigars like it.  With its reddish tinge, the Punch Rare Corojo is a medium to full-bodied cigar.  It has a tons of flavor, but not necessarily the bite of a Nicaraguan.

Cigars from November 19th, 2003 Event – Tyler Fitzgerald’s Restaurant

Cigars Selected by Three Sons Smoke Shop

o         Vega Fina Robusto had a mild body and was a very easy smoke.

o         The Don Melo, a fuller bodied cigar was very tightly wrapped with tons of flavor.

o         The Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur #1 was impressive in size and backed it up with a smooth taste with its full body.

Cigars from March 23rd, 2004 Event

Cigars Selected by Tobacco Field

o         Cigar #1: Drew Estates’ Natural- The Natural was a very smooth and delicious smoke.  Some at the event also tried a variation of the Natural which had a sweet wrapper.

o         Cigar #2: Padron 4000- Another very good cigar with more body than the Natural

Cigars from May 19th, 2004 Event

Cigars Selected by Tobacco Field

o         Cigar #1: Rocky Patel Vintage Series 1990 (Honduras) an 87 ranking in Cigar Aficionado – smooth, earthy smoke with cedar and an ever slight taste of espresso flavor

o         Cigar #2: La Gloria Cubana (Dominican Republic) an 85 ranking in Cigar Aficionado – sharp balsa-wood flavors – mild to medium cigar
